Former CDC Director Testifies COVID-19 ‘Likely’ Came From China’s Wuhan Lab – American Faith

Dr. Robert Redfield, the former Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), on Wednesday testified during the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic that the COVID-19 virus most likely originated from a laboratory in Wuhan, China.

“Based on my initial analysis of the data, I came to believe and I still believe today that it indicates that COVID-19 more likely was the result of an accidental lab leak than a result of a natural spillover event,” said Redfield.

Redfield explained that several unusual events occurred at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in September 2019, just months before the pandemic began.

“In Sept. 2019, three things happened in that lab. One is they deleted the sequences. Highly irregular, researchers don’t like to do that,” Redfield said.

“The second thing is they changed the command and control from civilian to military. Highly unusual.”

“The third, which is very telling, is they let a contractor redo the ventilation system in that laboratory. Clearly, there was strong evidence that a significant event happened in that laboratory in September,” he added.

On Tuesday, Johns Hopkins University professor Dr. Marty Makary told the select subcommittee that even though the evidence has probably been destroyed, it is a “no-brainer” that COVID originated from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

“The reason [lab-leak hypothesis for Covid origin] is even an issue is that it is embarrassing is we funded the lab,” Dr. Makary said. “If we had not funded the lab, 100% of Americans would say this is obvious, this is a no-brainer.”

“The epicenter of the world is five miles from one of the only high-level virology labs in China, the doctors initially were arrested and forced to sign nondisclosure and gag documents, the lab reports have been destroyed and not turned over, the sequences reported from the lab to the NIH database were deleted by request by Chinese scientists, who called over early on and said to delete those sequences,” he went on to say.
